Host Cities of Peace

Cities of Peace is far more than a beautiful art exhibition. We've worked with all types of institutions--from universities to churches and civil society organizations to department stores--to exhibit Cities of Peace in unique, meaningful ways. The Exhibition of Cities of Peace includes:

  • 9 monumental gold-leaf paintings on Belgian linen, measuring 265 cm x 175 cm (104 in x 69 in) each
  • Cities of Peace Treasure Suite, a limited edition of 9 hand-illuminated prints with text
  • Wall text: project description; painting identification texts; photographic documentation
  • Display: the materials of illumination (gold leaf varieties, gilder’s clay, tools)
  • Audio tour, narrated by an award-winning actor from A Serious Man (Coen Bros.)
  • Film: The Making of Cities of Peace by Academy Award winning cinematographer
  • Symposia, panel discussion, speakers: “Art as an Instrument for Peace”
  • Print materials: brochure, poster, catalogue, notecards

Beyond the Exhibition: Customized Educational Programming and the Benefits of Hosting Cities of Peace

  1. Learning streams – an innovative multi-disciplinary methodology, pedagogy and strategy that are unique and at the same time activate a global perspective. Participants work with maps, history, the arts and archaeology through world conferences, film, workshops, panels, symposia, film, and the collaborative creation of new Cities of Peace in underrepresented cultures and countries
  2. Cities of Peace galvanizes and safeguards cultural literacy and cultural preservation.
  3. Cities of Peace inculcates and addresses the universal values of human rights through the monumental paintings of Cities of Peace for the benefit of future generations by motivating and cultivating contemporary creativity
  4. Inter-generational solidarity is a new focus, based on informed and engaged citizenry. This is made possible through Cities of Peace’s participatory inter-generational activities that mirror and reinforce multicultural goals in the acquisition of information, culture, concepts and beliefs necessary to achieving several EU goals.
  5. Cities of Peace renews momentum for effective partnerships through imparting reliable information: from not knowing, gaining information, to knowledge; i.e., acquiring knowledge, sharing knowledge and communicating knowledge that may then be translated into policies and appropriate action
  6. We offer Cities of Peace art for world tour: to acquaint world audiences with the history of countries that are under-appreciated and unknown.
    • Cities of Peace maximizes community collaboration as a local, regional and global catalyst and resource, building capacity and cooperation among nations.
    • Cities of Peace strives to achieve international standards of equity and human rights in order to strengthen policies towards unity and sustainable solutions
    • Through Dr. Frank’s participation in international peace conferences presenting Cities of Peace, we now have access to individuals and organizations engaged in active processes of peacebuilding using culture as a bridge for intercultural dialogue and life skill development
  7. As new Cities of Peace are produced they join and enhance the existing collection to fulfill the aim of youth.
