Dr. Simons’ Story:
Symbol: Crown, representing the coronavirus as the shape of the crown with the identity of the points around the virus.
Colors: Blue and white, these colors represent the personal protective equipment used by us healthcare professionals
Words: Crown and Repetition, crown for coronavirus as explained before, and repetition representing
the fact that COVID-19 isn't the only coronavirus outbreak. SARS and MERS are examples of other coronaviruses.
Best moment: Patient who was in and out of the hospital was put on an experimental drug to help relieve COVID symptoms. The patient began to feel healthy again and eventually recovered. He called us to thank us for healing him and sang Ode to Joy, the song people use for celebrations.
Hardest moment: The hardest moments for me was when the virus first started spreading in New York. First of all, due to the few weeks lack of PPE, we were not adequately protected and had to improvise. Also, there were so many unknowns going into the virus that there was always a fear of catching the virus.
